Many of our clients come to us in a time of crisis and are in need of help. Below is a suggested list of items you may want to pack, as well as a list of things that will not be permitted.
Toiletries – Shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant (non-aerosol), mouth wash (non-alcohol), hairdryer and flannel
Gym clothing and appropriate footwear – For example: comfortable jogging bottoms, leggings, t-shirts, and vests
Nightwear – Pyjamas, slippers and dressing gown
Day or Evening Comfortable loose clothing – This includes jeans, loose trousers, t-shirts, and jumpers
Outdoor clothing – Appropriate footwear and coat for the time of year
Medication – Please bring all medication with you that you are currently taking as well as your doctor’s contact details
Mobile phones – Clients are more than welcome to bring their phone into treatment to stay in touch with loved ones, however there will be time boundaries in place. Please see a copy of our treatment contract for further details.
Laptop and charger – Clients are more than welcome to bring their laptops into treatment. There will be certain times of the day when clients will be able to check their emails. Please see a copy of our treatment contract for further details.
I-Pod or radio – You may prefer to listen to music rather than watching TV to relax.
Personal sundries – Stamps, cash, debit/credit card, chequebook, stationary, cigarettes, tobacco. Please bring with you any important paperwork that will need to be dealt with during your stay. Jewellery is permitted although we encourage you to only bring what is neccessary.
Pictures of loved ones – These are permitted, providing their content is suitable.
Umbrella – For local walks and going to external meetings.
Gym wear – Trainers, shorts, t-shirts, leggings, tops.
Swim wear – Towels for the pool.
External leisure centre – Additional cost of £2.30 to swim and £2.90 to use the gym up to four times a week.
Please note that laundry facilities will be available to wash and dry your clothing.
Money – Confectionary, toiletries, £30 – £40 for a massage, cigarettes etc.
Items not permitted
- Illicit drugs or alcohol
- Mouth wash containing any alcohol
- Perfumes and aerosols
- Non prescribed medication
- Sharp objects such as razor blades,knives, scissors, and needles
- Anything that can be used as, or presents itself, a weapon
